![]() I could sort the transactions by the cleared status. The other thing is notice, this list, it is sorted by date right now and that’s probably how you want the list sorted. You can always go uncheck that to take it off if you don’t like that. Now, you’ll notice that everything is on one line. All the way down in the bottom left of your screen, you’ll see one line and there’s a checkbox. Now, if you’d rather see this in what they call a one-line fashion, I want to show you a different view, a different way you can look at this register. You also have a place for a memo line right over here. The second line is going to be your Chart of Accounts. The running balance in your register here. And if it happens to be a deposit, you’ll see that amount here and then, of course, the balance. You’re going to see the payment amount here. If you’re writing a check who would that check be made payable to. You can leave it blank, you can write the word Debit. There’s a field for the check number, and that field can hold anything you want to put in the field. There is going to be a place for the date. When you’re looking at the register here you’ll notice it looks very similar to the one that you would actually have in your desk. ![]() I’m going to open the checking account register and let’s just look at how these are set up and some different ways you can view the register and get some different information. And all of these can be closed with the X at the top. When I open it here’s the vehicles register. And then, when I double click any of these (where I see a balance total), I’ll get a register.įor example, let’s say that I opened this one that says: “ Vehicles”. That means that if I double click these, I’ll actually get a report. You’ll notice if I scroll down this list, and I get down here to where you see the income accounts, all the way down, there are no balances there. Now, if you notice when you’re looking at the Chart of Accounts, (all of the ones that have a balance right here) they all have a register you can go look at. So let me go ahead and open this, and then, we’ll see our checking, our savings, and our petty cash register right there at the top. You’re going to have to get to those through the Chart of Accounts. There are more registers than just the checking account register. You could select the one you want and click OK and then you’re in the checkbook register this way. And, you do have a dropdown and you can see that you have a couple of different bank accounts here. If you click here, then it will ask you to select an account. Now, another way you can do this from the Home screen (if you notice right here). Double click and go right to your checkbook register. One is if you look over (here) where it says: “Account Balances”. You will see the checking here. I wanted to show you a couple of different ways from the Home screen (that you can get to the register). ![]() You’ll probably spend most of your time looking at your checkbook register. And show you about what kind of information you can get when you’re looking at a register. You’re going to see there are several different types of registers and I wanted to go through each one with you to show you a little bit about how they work. ![]() A register would be like your checkbook register, for example. In the first module, we’re going to talk about working with the registers.
